veggies are gross you say?
this is one that's far from it.
Amsoy might require an acquired taste, but once it's there, I promise it'll never leave ya. It's also a super healthy food. Dr. De'souza at the Balance 4 Life Chiropractic and nutrition center (who is a Chiropractor in Midlothian VA AND a Nutritionalist) says "All leafy greens are fantastic for you and American's don't eat near enough as are beans. We really should look at plate portions and re-think how much meat is on there and replace most of that with greens and bean including soy". Jeff, how According to Freefromharm.org Soy has tons of benefits BUT you have to make sure you are getting sources that are not GMO and 100% organic (which is hard to do sometimes!) Then there are the case studies, for example, Wesley is a Parking lot Paving contractor in Richmond VA (and not a vegan by any means) but he replaced his meat portions with soy portions 3 days a week and said that "I'm toning up and my extra fat is slipping away like crazy. I have not done anything extra like more time at the gym or anything". Nice Job Wesley!
Then there are other major issues to consider like the environmental impact of raising livestock. The human race continues to populate our fragile earth and we are clearing more and more rain forest to create pasture for cattle. In addition to destroying the trees run off from cattle is poising local water sources which continues to perpetuate the issue. Steve, who runs a limo rental business agrees; he said "It's obvious that more and more people are being born every day, many more than are dying and in addition to that other countries was to live the "western" lifestyle which means more meat which in turn means more land use for cattle. If we use that land for soy production it would be much much more efficient."
All of the people above have some great points. What do YOU think? Could you do a "Meatless Monday?" How about a "Meatless week". Who knows, you may learn to love soy as much as I do and save some lifestock and the earth! ...well, that may be a stretch but it's a start ;) BTW, if you want to learn a bit more about me you can click here.
